Frequently Asked Questions

Who are you?
I am Dr Maria Wolters, a specialist in making eHealth easy to use for everyone (Research Blog, Twitter, LinkedIn).

I also blog on the world of eHealth and mHealth at this site. For consulting services, get in touch via my contact form – this helps me react to your enquiry more quickly and efficiently.

I am not from the UK – will you still work with me?
I work with people and businesses around the world from my base in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. As long as I can communicate with you in English or German, I can work with you. (I can also read and understand Spanish and French, but I will have to reply in English or German). Bear in mind however that I may not be able to help you with country-specific issues.

How much do you charge?
AppAudits, QuickClinics, and related follow up consultations have fixed fees. I operate on a sliding scale depending on the volume of the work. I offer special rates to students, carers, charities, and non-profits. I will offer further discounts through my referral programme soon.

The prices are as follows: AppAudit £90, including detailed action plan and 20-minute consultation (follow on consultations: 1 for £20 or 3 for £50, 20 minutes each), QuickClinic £200 (follow-on: 1 for £30 or 3 for £75, 30 minutes each).

When do I have to pay you?
I require full payment before I send the AppAudit and QuickClinic action plans, and before I provide follow up consultations for both services. This helps me provide the services at the highly competitive price.

Payment for other consulting services is subject to negotiation; contact me to find out my hourly rate and learn about possible discounts for longer pieces of work and charities.

Do you offer a guarantee?
No. I provide you with the best advice I can give, but it is up to you to implement it.

I see that you also work for the University of Edinburgh?
This is my own business, which is completely independent of the University of Edinburgh, or any other employers I have had. When providing services through my own company, I, Maria Wolters, am not acting as agent or employee or representing in any way the University of Edinburgh. The University of Edinburgh has no responsibility or liability for the services I provide through my own company.
